I bought a Strat with a Warmoth neck that someone butchered by poorly adding Sperzel tuners and string trees. One of the pin holes for the Sperzels was actually drilled all the way through; there's another set of holes from some previous tuners. Anyways, long story short, I want to plug these holes. Does anyone know of a source for small - i.e. 1/8" - side (face) grain plugs I can get? Birdseye maple would be ideal but maple would probably work equally well. |

Just use toothpicks like most of us do. Think of them as small paper birch dowels, just like their larger diameter lumber yard cousins. |

If you motivated, you can make a plug cutter out of 1/8" id tubing from the hardware store. The difference in appearance between an end grain dowel and a face grain maple plug will be small and, IMHO, not worth the trouble on a previously chewed Warmoth neck. |
